Ample Ink! OPEN CALL FOR ART

Please read this, then fill out this Google Form by MAY 28

What? Ample Ink is a group show of screen prints made by students at Super G Print Lab, curated by Paige at Ample Art.

Who? You! If you have taken a screen printing class from any instructor, of any level, at Super G Print Lab, you are eligible. You may submit work you created inside or outside of the class; it just has to be a two dimensional screen print on paper. Anyone who fills out the Google form and drops off their work will have their work shown.

Why? Ample Ink is going to bring together the amazing people who take classes at Super G Print Lab, but who never meet each other! It gives you the opportunity to display your work alongside other artists and possibly sell to someone who absolutely loves it!

Where? Ample Art is a storage unit turned art exhibition space in Durham, NC. Ample Art believes that artists complete a fundamental step in the creative process when they have the opportunity to curate and show their work in a gallery setting. Ample Art blends a do-it-yourself ethos with perfectionistic tendencies to exhibit small, cohesive bodies of work by emerging local artists. Here’s the address with a map.

When? Artwork drop off runs through May. Installation happens June 1-2. Opening reception is Friday, June 7, 6-9pm.

How? Number 1:  Fill out this google form. Number 2: Drop off your work. Here are your options:

What about the money? The recommended price range for a piece in Ample Ink is $15-$50, or it can be Not For Sale. If your work sells, you connect directly with the collector to coordinate payment and delivery (or they can take it straight home!).

If you make a sale and would like to support Ample Art, please consider a donation of $5-$15 to cover expenses for the show. Expenses for this show are: June rent: $215. Materials: $75. Physical, mental, and emotional labor by volunteers: Priceless. Donations can go to Venmo @paigewelchart or cash in the donation jar.

But I have another question! Yes, your work is “good enough”—in fact it is awesome! Nope, you don’t have to frame it—work will be installed with magnets. If you live far away and aren’t able to bring your work to Durham—maybe next time. If you have more than one piece—just pick the one you like best!

Are you excited yet?!?
